Celebrate Lunar New Year

Celebrate Lunar New Year @Bryantpark

by

Welcome the Year of the Rabbit and celebrate the Lunar New Year at Bryant Park! Families can craft their own drums and paper lanterns,  join a ribbon dancing class, and watch a Lion Dance and other traditional musical performances by the New York Chinese Cultural Center.

Wander between Overlook and the Rink deck for a morning of Lunar New Year festivities.

Did you know: In some parts of the world, the new year will celebrate the Year of the Cat instead. According to the Vietnamese zodiac calendar, the cat (not the rabbit) was the fourth animal to cross the river and return to shore.

Schedule:

10am – 1pm: Wishing Tree Activity on NW corner of the Rink
10:30am – 11am: Lunar New Year Crafts in Overlook
11am – 11:15am: Lion Dance perfomance by NYCCC on the Rink Deck
11:15am – 11:30am: Photos with Lion
