September 11, 2001 began like any other day in New York City. Many people remember the beauty of the clear blue sky that morning, which later became the backdrop of the horrific attacks that tragic day. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks and for nine long months, first responders, emergency personnel, construction workers, and volunteers came from all over to help our city when we needed them most. Their tireless service helped all of us begin to heal.
