The Whisky Extravaganza 2019

by

Each year The Whisky Extravaganza turns up the heat and we love it! This year, the biggest whiskey event in New York City was held at Weylin in Williamsburg Brooklyn NY. If you’re a whiskey connoisseur or a beginner this would be a great place for you to check out. At The Whisky Extravaganza every whiskey brand you could think of was there, Widow Jane, Westland, Sagamore Spirits Rye, Bruichladdich, Singelton, Bulleit, Johnny Walker, The Whiskey Five Station and more. The selections were endless.

The Whisky Extravaganza is also a networking opportunity to connect with established brands or startups in the whiskey business. Upon entering the venue you were greeted with a whiskey glass and a token. The token in each glass allowed you to pick up a cigar of your choice at the cigar station to take home. This year entering the venue there was also a welcome cocktail by Amanda Victoria, the 2018 gold medal winner of the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition. They greeted each guest with a refreshing summer like Glen Moray whiskey cocktail. This year was filled with surprises. Hennessy was an added on addition as one of the participants this year.

Hennessy set up a beautifully stocked cocktail making class in the lower level. Each cocktail making station was fully stocked with everything you would need to concoct the best cocktail. The class started out with the brand ambassador explaining the history of this extraordinary brand, then we all were coached on how to make a French 75 with cognac. As the class progressed everyone was given a tasting of the four year old aged V.S.O.P. This tastefully, well organized class ended with a shot of Hennessy’s six year old aged XO. Each year this event is superb! Please stay tuned and we will keep you updated on their next tasting event. Thanks Katelyn Hudson (polishedpigmedia) for such a wonderful experience each year.
