Join The Public Theater Block Party on Sunday, July 28 @ ASTOR PLACE.
PERFORMANCES & ACTIVITIES.
12-1:30PM: Gather around the stage for PUBLIC THEATER GREATEST HITS. See Public Theater alumni perform some of the most memorable songs from iconic Public Theater musicals including HAMILTON, HAIR, FUN HOME, HELL’S KITCHEN, SUFFS, HERCULES, A CHORUS LINE, and more! Featured performers include Nikki M. James (SUFFS), Rebecca Naomi Jones (FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST, Public Works’ AS YOU LIKE IT), Jelani Alladin (Public Works’ adaptation of Disney’s HERCULES), Gianna Harris (HELL’S KITCHEN), Hawley Gould & Monica Tulia Ramirez (SUFFS), Gregory Treco (HAMILTON), members of the 2008 cast of HAIR, and more to be announced!
2-3PM: Get ready to dance! Join in and learn special new choreography to the Broadway Cast Recording of Alicia Keys‘ “Empire State of Mind” by Camille A. Brown, led by HELL’S KITCHEN dance captain, Chloe Davis.
3-4PM: Round out the day with a performance from Block Party headliner OLIVIA K & THE PARKERS.
There will also be free family-friendly activities indoors and outdoors like corn hole, face painting, balloon animals, coloring, and more. If you’ve been craving a burger from The Library, you don’t even need to go inside! Grab a burger from The Library’s satellite station on the North side of The Public just before the entrance. If you’d prefer a sit-down meal, head inside and enjoy their full menu.

12PM: Join us in Joe’s Pub for a screening of “Joe Papp in Five Acts”
12-4PM: Explore a curated exhibit featuring iconic costumes from past Public Theater productions.
ALL DAY: Take advantage of our cooling station including handheld paper fans, cold water, and great AC!

Now through July 28—PUBLIC GIVES! Day—help us raise $250,000 to close this year’s revenue gap. PUBLIC GIVES! is a community-wide fundraising drive that culminates at the Block Party. All donations will support The Public’s commitment to provide New Yorkers, regardless of background and geography, with access to dynamic and game-changing theater.
