
Lunar New Year Celebration: South Street Seaport
Save the date for Saturday, February 1, as we welcome the Year of the Snake with an exciting day of cultural activities. In partnership with the New York Chinese Cultural Center and the South Street Seaport Museum, join us to celebrate Lunar New Year with live performances, crafts, and more.
Enjoy two 15min Lion Dance performances followed by a 15min photo op. RSVP for the Lion Dance is encouraged but not required.
TRADITIONAL LION DANCE-Two lion dance performances will take place in front of Tin Building, kicking off at 12:00pm. If you miss your chance to catch the action and snap some photos during the first performance, the lions will perform again for you to enjoy.

CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOPS
Join the Seaport Museum and skilled teaching artists from the New York Chinese Cultural Center for one of three delightful 45-minute workshops exploring the art of Chinese Calligraphy and its importance to the Lunar New Year. While primarily designed for children ages 7–12, these workshops are open to all ages free. As part of the neighborhood Lunar New Year celebration, the Seaport Museum is offering free General Admission on February 1.
