Jones Wood Foundry: New Bargain Dining Options

Jones Wood Foundry, the Upper East Side’s highly regarded food driven pub, has just inaugurated regular weekly entrée super deals that make dining in its cozy, candlelit and evocative of a bygone era environs even more attractive to the budget conscious. Monday means “Monday Roast,” classic roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with all the trimmings for just $15 ($22 on Saturday and Sunday).

Tuesday, think Foundry Pie & Pint, scrumptious steak and mushrooms in a savory sauce enrobed by chef / owner Jason Hicks’s signature crusts (yes crusts, plural as in two different crusts – rich suet for the bottom and a buttery tough pastry for the top), with mashed potatoes or triple cooked fries PLUS a int of beer for only $25 (a $30-and-more value)ju.

On Wednesday it’s “ Curry Chicken,” traditional British pub Chicken Tikka Masala for just $15. The dish is not on the regular menu (although lamb vindaloo is, another British pub favorite Indian dish), but it exists on other menus around town for up to $28!
