What do Jimmy Fallon’s house band The Roots and golden-voiced duo Kindred the Family Soul have in common? They both emerged from the soul-rich city of Philadelphia. During the early 2000s neo soul explosion, the married couple who make up Kindred the Family Soul were discovered and signed by another Philly neo soul pioneer, Jill Scott. Their stirring, silky smooth songs “Far Away” and “Where Would I Be?” were instant successes with the grown ‘n’ sexy crowd.
