School Day Live: Stories & Songs of Freedom
Join The Apollo for a special African American Heritage Month presentation by award winning storyteller April Armstrong and her jazz trio. The performance will celebrate the contributions of great African-Americans in the U.S. and abroad through song and poetry. Hear the stories of Stage Coach Mary, Underground Railroad Captain, John Parker, and international Aviatrix, Bessie Coleman all of whom in their own way helped to shape the great country we all share. Joining April will be musicians, Ayodele Maakheru on guitar, Mario Sprouse on keyboards and Napoleon Revels-Bey on drums.
