Talk&Taste: Evenings at Essex Street Market
Join Talk&Taste: Evenings at Essex Street Market for this very special event on Tuesday, February 28th! Get a taste of the range of African and American America foods available in NYC from 6:30-7pm, followed by a panel discussion from 7-8pm. Registration is free but RSVP is required.
Kamau Ware moderate this talk; Kamau is a visual storyteller and former educator at the Tenement Museum whose latest project, Black Gotham, strives to answer the question: Where are Black people in the history of NYC? We’ll also hear from Essie Bartel, founder of Essiespice, whose blends and sauces are a tribute to her Ghana heritage; and Din Yates of Cheeky Sandwiches, a beloved sandwich shop on the LES featuring the best flavors of New Orleans.
