Spike Lee Moleskine "Book Release Signing"

Join us for a celebration of the Moleskine – Spike Lee collaboration! Spike Lee will be hosting an in-store signing of his special edition “Notebook” in New York City Thursday August 04, 2016 7:00 PM in Union Square.
 
Moleskine and American film director, producer, writer and actor, Spike Lee have teamed up to create a limited edition notebook celebrating the 30th Anniversary and re-release of Lee’s seminal film “She’s Gotta Have It.” The notebooks, released in limited run of 3,000 copies, are each hand-stamped with its own number and will be exclusively available at Moleskine stores and online in the U.S. only.
Widely recognized as one of the most influential independent films of the 1980s, “She’s Gotta Have It” was Lee’s first feature-length film.  Released in 1986, the film starred Tracy Camila Jones as Nola Darling, a young, independent woman in Brooklyn, and Lee as one of her three suitors. “She’s Gotta Have It” broke new ground by telling the story of an upscale, cosmopolitan black woman – a demographic that had been unrepresented on the film screen – and put Lee on the map as one of his generation’s most creative and daring filmmakers.
In a tribute to Lee’s mother, Jacquelyn, who passed away 40-years ago, Lee selected her favorite color – a bold, pink – to grace the cover of the Moleskine notebook, and its elastic closure and bookmark ribbon.
