The creator of some of the finest power-pop of the ’80s, he’s a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician, selling 25 million albums and scoring 17 U.S. Top 40 hits, including “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers” and “An Affair of the Heart.” Springfield’s also an accomplished actor who most recently starred opposite Meryl Streep in Ricki and the Flash and as the creepy Dr. Irving Pitlor in HBO’s drama True Detective. His latest studio album,Rocket Science, features expertly crafted pop-rock songs that are open and electric.
