HOWDOYOUSAYYAMINAFRICAN?, known colloquially as THE YAMS, a collective of over 38 artists, writers, composers, academics, filmmakers and performers from around the African Diaspora. Known for their uncensored voice on race, gender, identification, and sexual orientation, the artists will collaborate on one night of performance, music, artwork, and fashion. Through multiple performances, featuring the Parisian DJ Koo Desthe YAMS will explore the body—stomach, heart, and mind—as an open source operating system.
