Handel’s Water Music Suite Performance

St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble will perform Handel’s Water Music Suite at Temple Emanu-El’s historic sanctuary. Handel composed the Water Music Suite for King George II, for a royal party on a barge on the Thames River. Though composed in 1717, the piece was not published until after Handel’s death in 1759. While the order of the movements remains unclear, they were later grouped together based on musical similarities, creating three shorter suites.
