International Women’s Day :MFON
Join the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture as the help celebrate some of the iconic woman photographers of African descent. This inaugural and commemorative book MFON is named after Mmekutmfon “Mfon” Essien, an acclaimed Nigerian-born American photographer who died of breast cancer at age 34. Their will be conversations that will feature co-founders and award winning photographers Laylah Amatullah Barrayn and Adama Delphine Fawundu also joined by photographers Fabiola Jean-Louis, Renee Cox, and Nona Faustine. MFON‘s deputy editor, Crystal Whaley will moderate. Book signing will follow.
