JUNE FLUX SATURDAY: SOLSTICE

Sol­stice is a con­ven­ing from artist Jonathan Sims of eleven artists in cel­e­bra­tion of the Sum­mer Sol­stice, the longest day of the year in the north­ern hemi­sphere and the first day of sum­mer. Each of these artists has deeply engaged with light as a cen­tral com­po­nent of their work, and this exhi­bi­tion is a cel­e­bra­tion of the sun, whose light makes all life pos­si­ble on Earth. Artists in this show use a mul­ti­tude of light sources, which are then reflect­ed, refract­ed, gath­ered, cap­tured, direct­ed, shat­tered, lensed, and bent into new form.
