Museum Mile Festival
Organized by the Museum Mile Association, the Museum Mile Festival is held in June every year. Various museums along New York’s Fifth Avenue, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, El Museo del Barrio, the Museum of the City of New York, The Jewish Museum, Cooper Hewitt – National Design Museum – Smithsonian Institution, National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts, Neue Galerie New York and the Goethe-Institut/German Cultural Center, to be precise, open their doors to the public. Gain free access to New York’s history and culture through the museum tours, music concerts, street performances and other entertainment activities on Fifth Avenue.
Stretching along Fifth Avenue between 82nd and 105th (which is roughly a mile) the streets are closed off to cars. And, for at least one special day and evening — the whole mile becomes a stroller’s heaven.
This year, the milestone 48th annual Museum Mile Festival is scheduled for Tuesday, June 09, 2026 from 6PM – 9PM, rain or shine.
