A Celebration of World Refugee Day
As of 2015, over 60 million people across the planet are currently displaced from their homes – more than at any time previously in history. So, to draw attention to the crisis and to confirm New York City’s place as America’s open arms to those fleeing their homes for a better life, The Public Theater and the International Rescue Committee will come together at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park to commemorate World Refugee Day.
Bobby Cannavale, Salman Rushdie, Okieriete Onaodowan, Condola Rashad, Celia Keenan-Bolger, John Ellison Conlee, Omar Metwally, Rocío Del Mar Valles, Nicholas Schmidle, Ato Blankson-Wood, and Nicholas Niarchos join the previously announced F. Murray Abraham, Michael Cerveris, David Henry Hwang, K’naan, Kwame Kwei-Armah, and Hoon Lee in this special evening commemorating World Refugee Day.
