Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun, Special Ed & More at Funkmaster Flex Birthday Bash & Concert
You’re invited to the party of the year as New York’s top DJ Funkmaster Flex celebrates his birthday at B.B. King Blues Club. The festivities kick off with a concert featuring two hip-hop pioneers of the ’90s: Black Moon and Smif-N-Wessun. Black Moon burst onto the scene in 1992 with hardcore anthems “Who Got Da Props?” and “I Got Cha Opin,” which were highlighted by the distinctive vocals of charismatic MC Buckshot Shorty. With slick street rhymes and undeniable chemistry, Smif-N-Wessun is best known for their album Dah Shinin, which was regarded as a classic of the era. This special birthday bash concert will also feature performances by Special Ed, Das EFX, Talib Kweli and Pharoahe Monch.
